Week 8 -Nov 20th 2008
Quite a bit of turmoil this week. Rock lose their unbeaten run with an 8-1 thumping by Balle Haye Tav A. Black Lion lose but still stay top.
White Lion are on the move.
Dyer's Arms B are the new leaders of Div 2 and with a game in hand.
Week 7 -Nov 13th 2008
Black Lion go top with 7-2 win over Fountain 'A'. Rock slip to second in spite of maintaining unbeaten record, but have a game in hand.
Brit lose again but still maintain an 8 point lead in div 2.
The first league cup game has been played between Fountain B and Pride of Moorlands with a 7-2 win for P of M.
Week 6 -Nov 6th 2008
The Rock are a point clear at the top of div 1 with a game in hand. The Brit are still way ahead after going down 4-5 to Dyer's B.
The Priory have decided to leave the league after struggling to keep a team together. Their results have been removed. This leaves quite a hole in the season and means two teams would have byes each week. Melvin has arranged for the two teams with a bye each week to play one another for a league cup.
Cup Week 1 -Oct 30th 2008
Only three games were played in the Team Doubles last Thursday. The remaining games will be played sometime before the next round which should be on the 27th Nov.
Week 5 - Oct 23rd 2008
The Fountain A shrug off their 8-1 defeat by winning 7-2 and getting back on top. Brittania have won 5 out of 5 to lead div2 by 10 points.
Week 4 - Oct 16th 2008
Mill st A now top the table after an emphatic 8-1 over the Fountain A. Brittania make it 4 out of 4 to top league 2. The Priory failed again to get a team together.
Week 3 - Oct 9th 2008
Unfortunately the Priory did not manage to get a full team together so their match with Dyer's B had to be postponed.
Week 2 -Oct 2nd 2008
There's been one or two changes in the team composition of some teams but all teams played again so things are looking better than this time last year.
Week 1 -29th Sept 08
The first night of the season got underway well. All teams turned up and all games were played. The Flying Horse and Red Lion are top of Div 2 and the Fountain top Div 1.
22nd Sept 08
The season got away early last night as the Rock and White Lion rearranged their match from next Thursday. The Rock won 6-3 hence the tongue in cheek headline. The Cartlidge brothers made a good start in their defence of the singles and doubles titles by taking all three points for the White Lion.
2nd Aug 08
Planning for the 2008/9 season is now underway. It is hoped that we can get enough teams this year to operate 2 leagues.
